Tea in the United States covers everything from a traditional Chinese or Japanese tea house to a Southern sweet-tea counter, and the fastest-growing segment is bubble tea: Taiwanese-style milk teas and fruit teas with tapioca pearls, sold by chains and independents alike with adjustable sugar and ice levels. Tea rooms serving afternoon tea with scones and sandwiches usually require a reservation, while boba shops, juice bars and smoothie shops are walk-in and quick. Kava and kombucha bars are a newer category, and loose-leaf tea stores sell blends, teaware and gifts, often with a tasting counter. Prices for a drink run similar to coffee-shop prices, with premium teas and cold-pressed juices at the high end.

What a special place in the city. From start to finish, the perfect afternoon at flowing space. The owner is lovely and the tea was incredible. This is not your average tea service. She has a beautiful energy in the space. Everything is so well thought out. The experience changes seasonally. I will be back for sure. Thank you for a beautiful experience!

I had an incredible experience today getting the 14 course omakase experience. I appreciated the pace very much. You start off with some crackers, nuts, dried fruit, chocolate cake, and tea to sip between courses as well as a towel to clean your hands. All the tea ware was gorgeous and hand made. I especially appreciated the cats and pretty rainbow purple cup. There is one alcoholic tea beverage, today it included apple whiskey. The one savory dish of tea over rice was unbelievable. I highly recommend visiting the shop after to see some of the handmade teaware and jewelry for sale.

Genuinely cannot recommend Flowing Space Tea House enough. This was hands down the best tea tasting experience Iβve ever had. Every tea was introduced with so much care and knowledge, from rare Japanese and Chinese teas to beautifully layered infusions. The pacing felt intentional and calming, and the presentation was stunningβeach cup felt like a small moment of art. We were also given so many thoughtful freebies, which made the experience feel incredibly warm and personal rather than transactional. What really set this place apart was the hostβs generosity and passion. She took the time to introduce us to independent ceramic artists, explaining the stories behind the pottery we were using, and even brought us downstairs to her shop, where she sells curated art and handmade pieces. Thereβs also an adorable tatami mat cafΓ© space, which made the entire visit feel like stepping into a quiet, creative world away from the city.

Had a wonderful time at flowing tea house for their tea omakase. It was a 14 course experience and I was honestly surprised by how generous the portions were, especially the tea chazuke. IT WAS DELICIOUS. The food and tea paired really well together. My favorite was the gardenia green tea and strawberry green tea. It smelled super fragrant but tasted clean and refreshing. The host and Ada explained how the blend was made, which made it even more enjoyable. Also, i had to say, Ada has amazing taste in teaware! Every piece was beautiful. Such a relaxing and thoughtful experience. Would definitely come back for their spring menu π΅
